Last night my husband and I, along with some friends from our Emergent group, went to see Rob Bell in Phoenix… well the Tempe Arts Center. As great as he sounds in his books, he’s even that much better live. He’s such a real guy.
I personally like that he made a lot of Fine Art references. That appeals to me as an artist, he was speaking my language. The word that spoke to me was the word….

Who is it that you are waiting on?
When we talk about women waiting on people we commonly think about serving them. We think about how we do our kids laundry and pick up our husbands socks but it seems like we are also waiting on people in another way. (more…)

I am very proud of my daughters who raised some money for Haiti. Hally is 11 and Ashlyn is 14. Their youth leader from their youth group at church challenged the 30 kids to raise $1000 total for the whole group. This is an amount that all the kids agreed to.
Lots of kids had different ideas on how to raise the money. One of my daughters got a can and took it to school and collected from students and staff and she raised $40.oo, that is a great amount from collecting for 3 days. My other daughter raised over $1100. Here is what she did…

We think that we need to make massive changes to make massive improvement but find it difficult to do… but what if there were another way?

A few people have asked me about my selection of blog design. Most of the people who ask already know about the origins of the Fleur-de-lis symbol and are curious about why I chose it. It was a very conscious decision and here is why:

This week I went on a trip I waited my whole life to take. I took a trip to the Grand Canyon. I also saw an extinct volcano, Sunset Crater, a meteor crater, Meteor Crater, Lowell Observatory and Walnut Canyon. There were two things that struck me as I visited these amazing sites.

I was on a blog talk radio show today and we were talking about goal setting. It’s easy enough to write down a bunch of stuff you want to do but it’s not always easy how to figure out what you want. Lots of people want to set them but they don’t know how to set goals. (more…)
