I was the 5th child born in a family with 6 kids. I was the youngest girl. In my years growing up, my older brothers and sisters always told me what to do and how to do it. I always felt resentful because I felt like they thought I didn’t know how to do anything and in my mind, that converted to feelings of being stupid.

Jake: “I think the letter Z is going to become extinct.”
Me: “Why?”
Jake: “Because it doesn’t get used very much.”
Me: “Well if Z was extinct… you couldn’t get a prize”
Jake: “….I think we should keep the letter Z.”

Often times when you look at your life or work situation or anything else, you might get overwhelmed with the changes that need to take place. For example, when you decide you want to be more fit, you might join a gym and think that you will start going 4 days a week. How often does that work? Do you stick with it? Usually you go and are all gung ho, then something comes up and you miss a day… then you get home another day and just don’t feel like going and after a while you are done.
We think that we need to make massive changes to make massive improvement but find it difficult to do… but what if there were another way?

“Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.” John Lennon
I have spent a lot of time lately reflecting on the past. When I looked up quotes about the past most of them addressed negative issues… whether our past holds us back or hangs over us or drags us down. I didn’t like any of the quotes.
I agree that it’s not good to live in the past… it’s better to let the negative things go…. but what about the good things in our past? Shouldn’t we reflect on that sometimes?

It was the 26th of January 1980…. I was a huge fan of Saturday Night Live (it was a dangerous thing that my dad did…putting a TV in my room so I could stay up late at night and watch alternative stuff). I didn’t always pay attention to the band but this night they had this band on that was retro (60’s retro) looking and when they started playing… they sounded retro! I fell in LOVE with the band!!

On this day 20 years ago, I got married in Atlanta GA. Downtown. The church I got married in was later condemned, torn down and made into a parking lot. It’s hard to believe it was that long ago.
Things with that marriage didn’t work out. Neither did things with the second husband… or the boyfriend after that. There is a definite theme going on here. (more…)

I have observed quite a number of detoxes and cleanses every where I go, they are at the drug store, the grocery store, the chiropractor, compounding pharmacy and then there are lots of companies who offer some great detoxes and cleanses. If you have not done a detox or cleanse… or even if you have and have plans to do others.. there are questions you should ask: (more…)

4 years ago this month, LifeChurch.TV introduced itself to Mesa and Gilbert near Phoenix, Arizona. My family attended the very first service at Mesquite High School. We loved the energy, we liked the casual dress and we loved Chris Spradlin. We had been looking for a place for our family to have community with other like-minded christians and find a place to grow.It all started out great!

A few people have asked me about my selection of blog design. Most of the people who ask already know about the origins of the Fleur-de-lis symbol and are curious about why I chose it. It was a very conscious decision and here is why:
